Ricky Hampton Nettles, 50 of Franklinville, died peacefully at Randolph Hospice House on January 15, 2024.
He was born at Chatham Hospital on July 25, 1973 to Buddy Nettles Jr. and Rosa Matthews Evans. He was a fun and loving son and a friend to all he knew.
Ricky attended Chatham County Schools, he worked at Lineberry, Inc. for several years as he enjoyed landscaping and outdoor activities. Ricky had a soft spot for his fuzzy four-legged friends Bernie and Roxie. He was a member at Christian Provision Ministries Church, Sanford,.
His time was spent enjoying family, friends, eating , riding motorcycles, fishing, watching movies and being jovial. Before his sudden onset of illness he had planned to attend Sandhills Community College for small engine repair so he could work on motorcycles.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father Buddy Nettles Jr. and his is survived by mother: Rosa Evans (Melvin) of Asheboro; step-mother: Pamela Nettles of Franklinville; brothers: Sukari K. Nettles of Danville, VA, Preston M. McCrimm and Jeffery M. Brooks of Durham and his special and favorite cousin: Joanna “Jobug” Brady Matthews of Siler City; sisters; Katina Nichols of Whitsett and Lakeitha Staley (Carl) of Franklinville; his shining star and ray of hope; Rebecca K. Chavarria of Sanford. His second brothers: Bryan T. "BB" Farrish of Franklinville, Reginald Matthews of Sanford, Thomas “Spankie” Butler of Sanford and Tony Blackwell of Whitsett and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
