Ms. Karen Yvette Jenkins 58, of High Point, NC entered peacefully into her eternal home on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born on January 1, 1965, to Rosa Lee Jenkins and the late Joseph Jenkins in High Point, NC. Karen received her education from the High Point City School System. She relocated to El Paso, Texas and graduated in 1984 from Chapin High School at Fort Bliss. She received her credentials to be a Certified Nursing Assistant and an Activity Coordinator. Karen worked at several assistant living facilities and provided private duty care for the elderly community. At an early age, Karen became a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she began her walk with God. She was a member of the Young Adult Choir and participated in the various activities and programs held at the church. She later attended Brown’s Chapel Holiness Church. Karen was very artistic; writing poems, sketching various pictures, and decorating was not just a hobby but, a passion. Her favorite pop star was Michael Jackson, and her favorite color was purple. Her family meant the world to her. Spending quality time with her children and grandchildren gave her great joy. Getting blinged up to hang out with her sisters and friends put pep in her step. The laughter, fun and cutting up always put a smile on her face. Most of all she tried to see the best in everyone. Karen was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents. Those left to cherish her memories are her mother; three sons, Kevin Green Jr. (Maria) of Moyock, NC, Bradley Jenkins and Jaylen Edwards of High Point, NC; eight grandchildren, Jayden Greene, Tasiah Jenkins, Kevin Greene III, Theodore Greene, Jaylen Edwards, Jr., Bradley Jenkins, Jr., Lyric Jenkins, and Lamar Edwards; four sisters, Sharon Robinson (Ronnie), Shelia Jenkins, Pamela Jenkins, and Gloria McCall (Odell); two brothers, Kenny Perry and Adrian “Mark” Jenkins; four aunts, Edna Campbell, Katie McNeil, Lela Watson and Rev. Catherine Brown (John); two uncles, John Jenkins and Charles Jenkins, Sr.; her companion, Bobby Franklin; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
